Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 1 How awesome that laying-bare of the truth! 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 the Thamud were destroyed by a terrible storm of thunder and lightning; 5 and the 'Ad were destroyed by a furious wind 6 To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. 7 Do you see any trace of them? 8 Pharaoh and those before him and the people of the overturned habitations all engaged in the same great sin. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. 10 Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. 11 That We might make it a remembrance for you, and the keen ear (person) may (hear and) understand it. 12 Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. 15 And the heaven shall cleave asunder, so that on that day it shall be frail, 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 That will be the Day when you shall be brought forth (before Allah) and no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their right hands will say, "Come and read my record. 19 Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. 20 And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 its fruits are near. 23 Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 "And that I had never known, how my Account is? 26 "Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me! 27 My wealth has availed me nothing: 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 Lay hold of him and chain him; 30 then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. 31 "Then fasten him with a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits!" 32 for, behold, he did not believe in God, the Tremendous, 33 Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor. 34 That is why he has no friend today, 35 Nor any food save filth 36 which none but the sinners eat!" 37
