By the moon 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 a warning to mortal man 36 to whoever of you desires to go forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
