In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists), 1 created man out of a germ-cell 2 Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who taught by the pen - 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Yes indeed, man is surely rebellious. 6 whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the returning. 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 a servant of Ours from prayer? 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 Or had enjoined piety, (it would have been better)? 12 Did you consider: what if he gives the lie (to the Truth) and turns away (from it)? 13 Does he not know that God observes all things? 14 Let him know that if he does not desist, We shall certainly drag him by his forelocks, 15 his lying, sinful forelock. 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We shall call on the guards of Hell. 18 Nay! obey him not, and make obeisance and draw nigh (to Allah). ۩ 19
