A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Alif. Lam. Mim. Sad. 1 A book has been revealed to you, (Muhammad). You should not hesitate to convey its warning and its good advice to the believers. 2 Follow, [O mankind], what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other than Him any allies. Little do you remember. 3 And how many a township We have destroyed, upon them Our violence came at night or while they were taking their midday rest. 4 And when Our punishment came upon them, they had nothing to say for themselves, and could only cry, "Verily, we were wrongdoers!" 5 (On the Day of Reckoning) We shall question the people to whom We had sent Our apostles, (if they followed their teachings), and will question the apostles. 6 Then surely, We shall narrate unto them (their whole story) with knowledge, and indeed We were not absent. 7 Truth alone will be of weight that Day. Those whose scales are heavy shall be successful, 8 And those whose scales are light - they are the ones who will lose themselves for what injustice they were doing toward Our verses. 9 It is We Who have placed you with authority on earth, and provided you therein with means for the fulfilment of your life: small are the thanks that ye give! 10
