And indeed Nooh prayed to Us – so what an excellent Acceptor of Prayer We are! 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 And We made his offspring the survivors. 77 and We left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 78 "Peace upon Noah among the worlds." 79 Verily, thus We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 80 Surely he was of Our believing servants. 81 Thereafter We caused the others to be drowned. 82 ۞ And, verily, among those who followed his [Nuh's (Noah)] way (Islamic Monotheism) was Ibrahim (Abraham). 83 he came to his Lord with a sound heart. 84 When he said to his father (paternal uncle) and his people, “What do you worship?” 85 It is falsehood that you desire gods other than Allah! 86 What think you then of the Lord of all Being?' 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 and said: 'Surely, I am sick (of what you worship)' 89 All the people turned away from him 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said: 'What do you eat? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he turned upon them, striking (them) with (his) right hand. 93 So the disbelievers came running towards him. 94 He answered: "Do you worship something that you [yourselves] have carved, 95 While Allah created you and that which you do?" 96 They said, 'Build him a building, and cast him into the furnace!' 97 Their desire was to outwit him, but We made them to be the humiliated. 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous." 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 And when he became capable of working with him, Ibrahim said, “O my son, I dreamt that I am sacrificing you – therefore now consider what is your opinion”; he said, “O my father! Do what you are commanded! Allah willing, you will soon find me patiently enduring!” 102 When they had both submitted to God, and he had laid his son down on his face, 103 We called out to him, "Abraham, 104 you have fulfilled what you were commanded to do in your dream." Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 105 Verily that! that was a trial manifest. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty victim. 107 And We perpetuated (praise) to him among the later generations. 108 "Peace upon Abraham." 109 That is how We recompense the righteous: 110 truly, he was one of Our faithful servants. 111 And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac: but among the offspring of these two there were [destined] to be both doers of good and such as would glaringly sin against themselves. 113
