Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
