The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 and gently take it away; 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
