The dwellers of the forest also rejected the messengers. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: "Will you not take heed? 177 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 178 So fear God and follow me. 179 And I do not ask you any reward for it, my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 180 ۞ "Give just measure, and cause no loss (to others by fraud). 181 and weigh with the straight scale, 182 and do not defraud people in their property or spread evil in the land. 183 And fear Him who created you and all the earlier people." 184 They said: thou art but of the bewitched; 185 "You are but a human being like us and verily, we think that you are one of the liars! 186 "So cause a piece of the heaven to fall on us, if you are of the truthful!" 187 He said: My Lord knows best what you do. 188 But they rejected him. Then the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom seized them, and that was the Penalty of a Great Day. 189 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 190 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 191
