Hizb 46
< random >
And lo! Jonah verily was of those sent (to warn) 139 When he ran to the laden ship, 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was condemned: 141 Then the big Fish did swallow him, and he had done acts worthy of blame. 142 And had he not been one of those who glorify (Allah) 143 He would have tarried in its belly till the day when they are raised; 144 ۞ But We threw him on a wide bare tract of land while he was ill; 145 And We made a gourd tree grow over him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded. 147 And they came to believe; so We allowed them to enjoy the good things of life for an age. 148 So ask their opinion: “(Are you convinced) that your Lord should have daughters and you should have sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females, while they were witnesses? 150 Oh, verily, it is out of their own [inclination to] falsehood that some people assert, 151 "Allah has begotten off spring or children (i.e. angels are the daughters of Allah)?" And, verily, they are liars! 152 "He has chosen daughters in preference to sons"! 153 What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge? 154 Will ye not then receive admonition? 155 Or, is there for you a clear warranty 156 Then produce your writ, if ye are truthful. 157 They have set up a kinship between Him and the jinn; and the jinn know that they shall be arraigned. 158 God is too glorious for what they ascribe to Him 159 except for the sincere worshipers of Allah. 160 So surely you and what you worship, 161 Not against Him can you cause (any) to fall into trial, 162 except him who shall roast in Hell. 163 [The angels say], "Every single one of us has his place assigned: 164 we are the rangers, 165 Verily, we (angels), we are they who glorify (Allah's Praises i.e. perform prayers). 166 And indeed they used to say: 167 'If only we had a reminder from the ancients, 168 We would have been the chosen servants of Allah." 169 but they have rejected it, [the Quran] and they shall soon learn! 170 Already Our Word has preceded to Our servants, the Envoys; 171 That undoubtedly, only they will be helped. 172 and that it is Our host that would certainly triumph. 173 Therefore turn away from them for some time. 174 And (then) see them, so they too shall see. 175 Do they wish (indeed) to hurry on our Punishment? 176 But when it descends in their territory, then evil is the morning of those who were warned. 177 So turn (away) from them for a while, 178 And (then) see, for they too shall see. 179 Your Lord, the Lord of Honor, is too exalted to be considered as they describe Him. 180 Peace be on the Messengers. 181 And all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
