The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 abasing [some,] exalting [others]! 3 When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. 4 and the mountains are totally shattered and crumble to pieces 5 and will scatter abroad into fine dust. 6 And you become [of] three kinds: 7 Thus, there shall be such as will have attained to what is right: oh, how [happy] will be they who have attained to what is right! 8 And (then) those on the left hand; what of those on the left hand? 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 In the Gardens of Pleasure, 12 Many of them will be from the ancient people 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 On couches wrought of gold, 15 Reclining therein face to face. 16 Immortal youths will wait upon them 17 With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, 18 that will neither make the head throb, nor intoxicate, 19 with fruits of their own choice 20 And meat of birds that they may wish. 21 And gorgeous eyed fair maidens. 22 The like of the hidden pearls: 23 A Reward for the deeds of their past (life). 24 They shall not hear therein vain or sinful discourse, 25 but only the tiding of inner soundness and peace. 26 NOW AS FOR those who have attained to righteousness - what of those who have attained to righteousness? 27 (They will be) among thornless lote-trees, 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 and shade extended, 30 Gushing water, 31 And abundant fruit, 32 never-ending and unforbidden. 33 and raised couches 34 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. 35 And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), - 36 chastely amorous, 37 All this will be for the People on the Right; 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
