The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 arise, and warn! 2 And your Lord glorify 3 And keep your clothes clean. 4 And stay away from idols. 5 and bestow not favour in order to seek from others a greater return, 6 Exercise patience to please your Lord. 7 When the Trumpet is sounded, 8 Surely that day will be a day of anguish, 9 and it will not be easy for the unbelievers. 10 Leave Me (to deal) with him whom I created lonely, 11 and to whom I have granted resources in abundance, 12 And children to be by his side! 13 To whom I made (life) smooth and comfortable! 14 and who still greedily desires that I should bestow upon him more. 15 Never! For he is an enemy to Our signs! 16 and I shall constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 For he had thought and calculated. 18 So accursed be he, how evilly did he decide! 19 Again, ruin seize him, how did he hatch a scheme? 20 Then he beheld, 21 frowned and scowled; 22 Then he turned back and was haughty; 23 He said, 'This is naught but a trumped-up sorcery; 24 “This is nothing but the speech of a man.” 25 Soon I will cast him into hell. 26 And what have you understood, what hell is! 27 It leaves and spares no one and nothing. 28 It scorches the mortal. 29 Over it are nineteen. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
