The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Read! In the name of your Lord, who created: 1 created the human from a (blood) clot. 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 who, by the pen, taught the human being: 4 Has taught man that which he knew not. 5 No indeed; surely Man waxes insolent, 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Have you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) seen him (i.e. Abu Jahl) who prevents, 9 a servant of Ours from prayer? 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah's guidance) and is froward? 13 Did he not know that God sees? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 So, let him call upon his way! 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 Nay, Obey not thou him. But prostrate thyself, and draw near (unto Allah). ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
