And indeed Nuh (Noah) invoked Us, and We are the Best of those who answer (the request). 75 And We saved him and his family from the great affliction. 76 And made his progeny survive, 77 And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all beings!' 79 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 80 he was among Our believing servants. 81 Then We did drown the others. 82 ۞ Abraham was on the self-same way (as Noah). 83 He turned to his Lord with a sound heart 84 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? 85 Is it a calumny, gods apart from God, that you desire? 86 What, then, do you think of the Sustainer of all the worlds?" 87 Then he looked carefully at the stars 88 and said: “I am sick.” 89 So they went away from him, turning back. 90 Then he turned towards their gods and said: "Why do you not eat (of these offerings)? 91 What aileth you that ye speak not? 92 And then he fell upon them, smiting them with his right hand. 93 So they (people) advanced towards him, hastening. 94 He said: "Worship ye that which ye have (yourselves) carved? 95 when it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 They desired to outwit him; so We made them the lower ones. 98 And he said, “Indeed I shall go to my Lord Who will guide me.” 99 My Lord, grant me a righteous (son)' 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear. 101 And when he became capable of working with him, Ibrahim said, “O my son, I dreamt that I am sacrificing you – therefore now consider what is your opinion”; he said, “O my father! Do what you are commanded! Allah willing, you will soon find me patiently enduring!” 102 When they both agreed and Abraham had lain down his son on the side of his face (for slaughtering), 103 We cried out: “O Abraham, 104 you have fulfilled what you were commanded to do in your dream." Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 105 Verily, that indeed was a manifest trial 106 So, We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 Peace be upon Ibrahim! 109 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 110 He was one of Our believing worshipers. 111 Then We gave him the good tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him, and Isaac; and of their seed some are good-doers, and some manifest self-wrongers. 113
