Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 and gives a little, grudgingly? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 That no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another. 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 and that it is He who creates the two kinds - the male and the female 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth; 48 And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius 49 that He it is Who destroyed the ancient 'Ad, 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 Then at this statement do you wonder? 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
