And when the envoys came to the family of Lot, 61 he said, "You seem to be strangers". 62 They said: "Nay, we have come to you with that (torment) which they have been doubting. 63 We truly tell you that we have brought to you the Truth. 64 Go, then, with thy household while it is yet night, with thyself following them in the rear; and let none of you look back, but proceed whither you are bidden." 65 We communicated to him Our decree that the guilty ones would be destroyed by the morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. (* To the house of Prophet Lut.) 67 [Lout (Lot)] said: "Verily! these are my guests, so shame me not. 68 And fear Allah and do not disgrace me." 69 They said, "Did we not forbid you to extend hospitality to strangers?" 70 He said, 'These are my daughters, if you would be doing.' 71 Verily, by thy life (O Prophet), in their wild intoxication, they wander in distraction, to and fro. 72 And thereupon the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at the time of sunrise, 73 and We turned it uppermost nethermost and rained on it stones of baked clay. 74 Surely! In this are signs, for those who see (or understand or learn the lessons from the Signs of Allah). 75 And lo! it is upon a road still uneffaced. 76 Indeed in this are signs for the believers. 77 And the companions of the thicket were [also] wrongdoers. 78 So We inflicted retribution on them, and they are both, indeed, on an open road (still) pursued. 79
