Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 it is a warning to man, 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 In Gardens they will question 40 Of evil-doers: 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
