Thus did We deliver the Children of Israel from the humiliating chastisement, 30 Inflicted by Pharaoh, for he was arrogant (even) among inordinate transgressors. 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge, above all beings, 32 and sent them revelations of which some were a clear trial for them. 33 Indeed, these [disbelievers] are saying, 34 'There is nothing except the first death, we shall never be revived. 35 Bring back to life our fathers if what you say is true". 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them for Our own amusement. 38 We created them not save in truth; but most of them know it not. 39 The Day of Decision is the appointed time for all. 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to his friend, and when none shall be succoured 41 save him upon whom God has mercy; He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 42
