Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command; 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Accursed be the conjecturers 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other. 23
