The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 when earth is stretched out 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 and by the night and what it enfolds, 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 But God knows what they harbour in their breasts. 23 Therefore give to them glad tidings of a painful punishment, 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds for them is a reward that will never end. 25
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
