The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
READ IN THE name of your Lord who created, 1 Createth man from a clot. 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 who taught by the Pen, 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: 7 Surely to your Lord is the return. 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 A bondman of Ours when he prayeth 10 Do you think he is rightly guided, 11 Or enjoined guarding (against evil)? 12 What is your opinion – if he denies and turns away, how wretched will be his state! 13 Knoweth he not that Allah beholdeth? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 A lying, sinful forehead. 16 So let him call his associates, 17 We will call the guards of hell. 18 No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah]. ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
