The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Successful indeed are the believers; 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 And who keep aloof from what is vain, 3 And they who are observant of zakah 4 those who safeguard their chastity 5 Except from their wives or the legal bondwomen that they possess, for then there is no blame upon them. 6 But those who covet more than this will be transgressors; 7 (Prosperous are those) who preserve their trusts and pledges 8 and who guard their prayers [from all worldly intent]. 9 Those are the inheritors 10 Who shall inherit the Firdaus (Paradise). They shall dwell therein forever. 11 And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay. 12 Then We placed him as a sperm in a firmly established lodging; 13 Then We made the seed a clot, then We made the clot a lump of flesh, then We made (in) the lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, then We caused it to grow into another creation, so blessed be Allah, the best of the creators. 14 after this you shall surely die. 15 Then will be raised up on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We have created seven ways above you; of Our creation, We are never inattentive. 17 And We send down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We cause it to settle in the earth, and most surely We are able to carry it away. 18 Then We produced for you therewith gardens of palms and vines wherein are many fruits for you, and of them you eat, 19 Also, a tree which grows on the Tor of Sinai and gives oil and relish for its eaters. 20 And indeed in the cattle is a lesson for you; We give you to drink what is in their bellies, and there are many benefits for you in them, and in them is your food. 21 and upon them, and on the ships, you are borne. 22
