The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And those who govern the event, 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 you pay attention 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
