And indeed We saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment, 30 From Pharaoh. Indeed, he was a haughty one among the transgressors. 31 And We chose them aforetime above the nations, knowingly, 32 And We vouchsafed unto them signs wherein was a manifest favour. 33 Even then they say: 34 "There is no dying for us but once; and we shall not be raised again. 35 So bring our fathers (back), if you are truthful. 36 Are they, then, better than the people of Tubba and those before them, whom We destroyed because they were truly lost in [the same] sin? 37 It was not in play that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We have created them for a genuine purpose, but most people do not know. 39 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] is the term appointed for all of them: 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to another, nor shall any be helped, 41 Save him on whom Allah hath mercy. Lo! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
