Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
