The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 then he mustered 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
