The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 The mountains made to move, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Whither then will you go? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
