The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By heaven of the constellations, 1 by the promised day, 2 And the bearer of witness and those against whom the witness is borne. 3 (Self-)destroyed were the owners of the ditch 4 Of the fire (kept burning) with fuel, 5 When they were sitting at its edge. 6 and were themselves witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 And they persecuted them for naught save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy 8 to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and earth. And Allah is the Witness of all things. 9 Those who persecute the believers, men and women, and then have not repented, there awaits them the chastisement of Gehenna, and there awaits them the chastisement of the burning. 10 [But,] verily, they who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall [in the life to come] have gardens through which running waters flow - that triumph most great! 11 The grip of your Lord is indeed severe, 12 Indeed it is He Who initiates and redoes. 13 And He is the Forgiving, and the Loving. 14 The Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 Doer of whatsoever He intendeth. 16 Has the story reached you of the hosts, 17 Of Firon and Samood? 18 Nay, but those who disbelieve live in denial 19 While Allah encompasses them from behind. 20 What is revealed to you is certainly a glorious Quran 21 that exists in a well-guarded tablet. 22
