The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Woe to every scorner and mocker 1 who amasses wealth and counts it, 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever. 3 Nay! Verily, he will be thrown into the crushing Fire. 4 And what will explain to thee That which Breaks to Pieces? 5 It is the Fire kindled by Allah, 6 to penetrate into the hearts. 7 closed around them 8 In outstretched columns. 9

True are the words of God the Almighty.
