Al-A 'araaf 12 of 24
We have sent no Prophet to any city but that We seized its people with misery and hardship, that haply they might be humble; 94 We then replaced their misfortune with well-being until they were relieved and began saying, "Our fathers had also experienced good and bad days." Suddenly, We struck them (with torment) while they were all unaware (of what was happening). 95 Had the people of those towns believed in and feared God, We would have showered upon them blessings from heaven and earth, but they rejected the truth. So We seized them on account of their misdeeds. 96 Do the people of the cities feel secure Our might shall not come upon them at night while they are sleeping? 97 What! do the people of the towns feel secure from Our punishment coming to them in the morning while they play? 98 Did they then feel secure against the plan of Allah?- but no one can feel secure from the Plan of Allah, except those (doomed) to ruin! 99
