Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 By the Book that makes things clear, 2 behold, We have made it an Arabic Koran; haply you will understand; 3 And verily, [originating as it does] in the source, with Us, of all revelation, it is indeed sublime, full of wisdom. 4 Should We withdraw the admonition from you because you are a people far gone in transgression? 5 How many Messengers did We send to the ancient people? 6 And never came there unto them a prophet but they used to mock him. 7 so We destroyed those who were mightier in courage than they. And the example of the ancients has passed away. 8 Yet, if you ask them who created the heavens and the earth, they will answer: 'The Almighty, the Knower created them' 9 (It is) He who made the earth to be a cradle for you and made in it ways for you, in order that you are guided. 10 and who sent down out of heaven water in measure; and We revived thereby a land that was dead; even so you shall be brought forth; 11 it is He who created all living things in pairs and gave you ships to sail in and beasts to ride upon 12 so that perhaps when you ride them, you will recall the bounties of your Lord and when you establish your control over it you would say, "Glory belongs to Him who has made it subservient to us when we would not have been able to do so ourselves. 13 indeed, to our Lord we are turning' 14 The pagans have considered some of His servants as His children. There is no doubt that the human being is simply ungrateful. 15
