Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 And the moon darkens 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30

(1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
