This, (Quran), is certainly the revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 192 The honest Spirit (Gabriel) brought it down 193 upon thy heart, [O Muhammad] so that thou mayest be among those who preach 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples. 196 Is not the fact (that the Israelite scholars already knew about the Quran through their Book) sufficient evidence for the pagans of the truthfulness (of the Quran)? 197 And had We revealed it unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 And he had recited it to them, and they had not believed it would have been different. 199 Thus it passes through the hearts of the criminals. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the grievous Penalty; 201 So that it will come upon them suddenly, when they perceive not. 202 Then will they say: "Can we be given respite?" 203 Do they want to hasten Our torment? 204 Beholdest thou? if We let them enjoy for years. 205 And then cometh that which they were promised, 206 none of their luxuries will be able to save them from the torment? 207 And never did We destroy a township which did not have Heralds of warning, - 208 By way of reminder; and We never are unjust. 209 The satans have not revealed the Quran; 210 They are unworthy of it, nor can they do it. 211 verily, [even] from hearing it are they utterly debarred! 212 Therefor invoke not with Allah another god, lest thou be one of the doomed. 213 And warn your tribe (O Muhammad SAW) of near kindred. 214 And take those believers under your wing who follow you. 215 And if they disobey thee, say thou: verily I am quit of that which ye work. 216 And put thy trust in the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 Who observes you when you rise (to pray) 218 And your movements among those who fall prostrate (along with you to Allah in the five compulsory congregational prayers). 219 Surely He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the Satans come down? 221 They descend upon all sinful self-deceivers 222 Who give ear, and most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets, the erring follow them, 224 Art thou not aware that they roam confusedly through all the valleys [of words and thoughts,] 225 preaching what they do not practice. 226 except those who believed and acted righteously and remembered Allah much, and when they themselves were subjected to wrong, they exacted retribution no more than to the extent of the wrong? Soon will the wrong-doers know the end that they shall reach. 227
