Let the dead earth be a Sign for them. We gave it life and produced from it grain whereof they eat. 33 And We place therein gardens of the date-palms and vines; and We therein cause to gush forth springs. 34 so that they might eat of its fruit and the labor of their hands. Will they not give thanks? 35 Exaltations to Him who created pairs of all the things the earth produces and of themselves, and that of which they have no knowledge. 36 A token unto them is night. We strip it of the day, and lo! they are in darkness. 37 And the sun runs his course for a period determined for him: that is the decree of (Him), the Exalted in Might, the All-Knowing. 38 And (as for) the moon, We have ordained for it stages till it becomes again as an old dry palm branch. 39 It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor does the night outstrip the day. They all float, each in an orbit. 40 That We bore their progeny in the laden ark is a sign for them; 41 And We have created for them the like of it in which they board. 42 We drown them if We will, then they have none to cry to, nor can they be saved, 43 It is only by Our mercy that they are granted provision for a time. 44 When it is said to such people: “Guard yourselves against what is ahead of you and what has preceded you that mercy be shown to you” (they pay scant heed to it). 45 And there comes not to them a communication of the communications of their Lord but they turn aside from it. 46 And when it is said to them, 'Expend of that God has provided you,' the unbelievers say to the believers, 'What, shall we feed such a one whom, if God willed, He would feed? You are only in manifest error!' 47 And they say: When will this threat come to pass, if you are truthful? 48 They do not await except one blast which will seize them while they are disputing. 49 Then they would not be able to make a will, or go back to their people. 50
