Has there reached you the story of the honored guests of Abraham? - 24 When they came in unto him and said: Peace! he answered, Peace! (and thought): Folk unknown (to me). 25 Then he went to his family and came with a fat [roasted] calf 26 And placing it before them said: "Won't you eat?" 27 He began to feel afraid. They said, "Do not be afraid," and then gave him the glad news of the birth of a knowledgeable son. 28 So hearing his wife went forth shouting. She struck her face and exclaimed: “A barren old woman am I.” 29 'Such, says your Lord' they replied: 'He is the Wise, the Knower' 30 ۞ He said: what then is your errand! O ye sent ones! 31 They said, "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin;- 32 to loose upon them stones of clay 33 They are transgressors in the presence of your Lord". 34 We saved all the faithful in the town. 35 but We found only one Muslim house. 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the afflictive torment. 37 And also in Moses, when We sent him unto Pharaoh, with a clear authority, 38 But (Pharaoh) turned back with his Chiefs, and said, "A sorcerer, or one possessed!" 39 Then We seized him and his army and cast them all into the sea: he himself [Pharaoh] was to blame. 40 There is also evidence of the Truth in the story of Ad whom We struck with a violent wind 41 which spared nothing of what it came upon, but caused [all of] it to become like bones dead and decayed. 42 And in the Thamud (was another Sign): Behold, they were told, "Enjoy (your brief day) for a little while!" 43 But they disobeyed the command of their Lord; so they were destroyed by a thunderbolt, and they could only gape, 44 for they were unable even to rise, and could not defend themselves. 45 And the people of Nuh We destroyed aforetime; verily they were a people transgressing. 46
