In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth with beneficence. 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 when heaven shall be split 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 For what day is it timed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 for the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 “Move towards what you used to deny!” 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
