In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Read! In the name of your Lord, who created: 1 created man from a clot [of blood]. 2 Recite: And thy Lord is the Most Generous, 3 who, by the pen, taught the human being: 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Yet man behaves arrogantly, 6 because he thinks himself self-sufficient: 7 Surely! Unto your Lord is the return. 8 Have you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) seen him (i.e. Abu Jahl) who prevents, 9 a servant (of Allah) when he prays? 10 Have you thought, if he had been on guidance 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 What thinkest thou? If he cries lies, and turns away - 13 Knoweth he not that Allah beholdeth? 14 Nay, if he desist not, We shall most surely drag him down upon his forehead 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 We too shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
