the Originator of the heavens and the earth! How could it be that He should have a child without there ever having been a mate for Him - since it is He who has created everything, and He alone knows everything? 101 Such is Allah, your Lord. There is no god but He, the Creator of everything: so worship Him. And He is unto everything a Trustee. 102 Sights comprehend Him not, and He comprehendeth all sights. And He is the Subtle, the Aware. 103 Indeed there have come to you clear proofs from your Lord; whoever will therefore see, it is for his own soul and whoever will be blind, it shall be against himself and I am not a keeper over you. 104 So We turn about the signs, that they may say, 'Thou hast studied'; and that We may make it clear to a people having knowledge. 105 follow thou what has been revealed unto thee by thy Sustainer - save whom there is no deity - and turn thy back upon all who ascribe divinity to aught beside Him. 106 Had Allah so willed they would not have associated others with Him in His divinity; and We have not appointed you a watcher over them, and you are not their guardian. 107 And do not abuse those whom they call upon besides Allah, lest exceeding the limits they should abuse Allah out of ignorance. Thus have We made fair seeming to every people their deeds; then to their Lord shall be their return, so He will inform them of what they did. 108 And they swore by Allah vehemently in their oaths that if any sign came to them, they will certainly believe in it; say, “The signs are with Allah, and what do you people know that if they came to them, they will not believe.” 109 so long as We keep their hearts and their eyes turned [away from the truth,] even as they did not believe in it in the first instance: and [so] We shall leave them in their overweening arrogance, blindly stumbling to and fro. 110
