Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Alif-Lam-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah, and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 These are verses of the Wise Book. 2 a guide and a mercy for those who do good, 3 Who establish prayer and give zakah, and they, of the Hereafter, are certain [in faith]. 4 Such are on guidance from their Lord, and such are the successful. 5 And of men is he who takes instead frivolous discourse to lead astray from Allah's path without knowledge, and to take it for a mockery; these shall have an abasing chastisement. 6 When Our Signs are rehearsed to such a one, he turns away in arrogance, as if he heard them not, as if there were deafness in both his ears: announce to him a grievous Penalty. 7 Surely those who believe and do good deeds shall have Gardens of Bliss. 8 wherein they will abide forever. That is God's true promise; He is the Mighty, the Wise One. 9 He created the skies without a support, as you can see, and placed stabilisers in the earth that you may dwell at ease as it revolves; and dispersed on it all varieties of creatures, and He sent down water from the skies and grew all kinds of splendid things upon it. 10 Such is God's creation. Show me now what those (they worship) beside Him have created. Surely the evil-doers are in clear error. 11
