Al-Dukhaan 2 of 3
and We delivered the Children of Israel from the humbling chastisement, 30 from Pharaoh who was most prominent among the prodigals. 31 And assuredly We elected them with knowledge above the worlds. 32 And granted them signs in which there was a plain trial. 33 Indeed these disbelievers proclaim; – 34 "That [which is ahead of us] is but our first [and only] death, and we shall not be raised to life again. 35 Bring back to us our fathers if you are truthful.” 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba' and those who came before them? We destroyed them, because they were guilty of sin. 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, out of play. 38 We created them not save with a purpose but most of them know not. 39 The Day of Final Decision is the appointed time for all; 40 The Day when no relation will avail a relation at all, nor will they be helped - 41 Except those upon whom Allah has mercy; indeed He only is the Most Honourable, the Most Merciful. 42
