Has the story reached thee, of the honoured guests of Abraham? 24 When those [heavenly messengers] came unto him and bade him peace, he answered, "[And upon you be] peace!" - [saying to himself,] "They are strangers." 25 Then he turned to his household, so brought out a roasted calf [as the property of Ibrahim (Abraham) was mainly cows]. 26 And he set it before them, and said: wherefore eat ye not? 27 He therefore inwardly sensed fear of them; they said, “Do not fear!”; and they gave him the glad tidings of a knowledgeable son. 28 Then came forward his wife, clamouring, and she smote her face, and said, 'An old woman, barren!' 29 They answered: "Thus has thy Sustainer decreed; and verily, He alone is truly wise, all-knowing!" 30 ۞ [Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?" 31 They said, 'We have been sent to a people of sinners, 32 to let loose upon them stone-hard blows of chastisement, 33 Marked by thy Lord for (the destruction of) the wanton. 34 We saved the believers among them, 35 And We found not within them other than a [single] house of Muslims. 36 And We left there a Sign for such as fear the Grievous Penalty. 37 And in Moses [was a sign], when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 But he turned to his counsellors, and said: "He is a magician or lunatic." 39 So We seized him and his hosts and flung them in the sea, for he was reprobate. 40 And in 'Aad [was a sign], when We sent against them the barren wind. 41 which spared nothing of what it came upon, but caused [all of] it to become like bones dead and decayed. 42 And in Thamud, when We said to them: "Enjoy yourselves for a while;" 43 But they revolted against the commandment of their Lord, so the rumbling overtook them while they saw. 44 So they were not able to rise up, nor could they defend themselves- 45 The people of Noah who lived before them were also evil doing people. 46
