The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 So where are you going? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
