And deem not Allah negligent of that which the wrong-doers work: He only deferreth them to a Day whereon the sight shall remain staring. 42 They shall come out running in bewilderment, with their heads raised, their gaze not returning to them; and their hearts will not have any calm. 43 And warn mankind of the day when the chastisement comes on them, And those who did evil shall say, 'Our Lord, defer us to a near term, and we will answer Thy call, and follow the Messengers.' 'Ah, but did you not swear aforetime there should be no removing for you? 44 You lived in the dwellings of those who wronged themselves, and it was clear to you how We dealt with them, and how We struck parables for you. 45 They devised their devising, and their devising is known to God; though their devising were such as to remove mountains.' 46 So, do not think, (O Prophet), that Allah will go back upon His promise to His Messengers. Surely Allah is Mighty, Lord of retribution. 47 On the Day when the earth will be changed to another earth and so will be the heavens, and they (all creatures) will appear before Allah, the One, the Irresistible. 48 On that Day, you shall see the sinners coupled together in fetters; 49 Their cloaks will be of pitch and fire will cover their faces. 50 That Allah may requite each person according to what he has earned. Truly, Allah is Swift at reckoning. 51 This is a clear message for mankind in order that they may be warned thereby, and that they may know that He is only One Allah, and that men of understanding may take heed. 52
