And assuredly We have created human being from ringing clay of loam moulded. 26 and the jinn We had created before from flaming fire. 27 And (remember) when your Lord said to the angels: "I am going to create a man (Adam) from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud. 28 "So, when I have fashioned him completely and breathed into him (Adam) the soul which I created for him, then fall (you) down prostrating yourselves unto him." 29 So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together. 30 Except Iblis. He refused to bow with the adorers. 31 "How is it, O Iblis," said (the Lord), "you did not join those who bowed in homage?" 32 Iblis replied, "I did not want to prostrate before a human being whom You have created out of mud-moulded clay". 33 God said, "Then get out of here; for you are accursed, 34 and there shall be a curse upon you till the Day of Recompense." 35 "O my Lord," said he, "give me respite till the day the dead are raised." 36 [Allah] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved 37 Till the period of the time made known. 38 He said, "My Lord, since You have let me go astray. I shall make the path of error seem alluring to them on the earth and shall mislead them all, 39 except Your sincere servants". 40 (Allah) said: "This is the Way which will lead straight to Me." 41 Surely, as regards My servants, you have no authority, over them except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 "And surely, Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 It hath seven gates, and each gate hath an appointed portion. 44
