The people of Lut gave the lie to the apostles. 160 when their brother Lot said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." 166 They said, 'If thou givest not over, Lot, thou shalt assuredly be one of the expelled.' 167 He said, “I am disgusted with your works.” 168 My Lord, save me and my family from their evil doings." 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 Except one old woman who remained behind. 171 Then We utterly destroyed the others. 172 And We rained on them a rain. So ill was the rain on those warned? 173 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 174 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 175
