Q (Qaaf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Qaf. CONSIDER this sublime Qur'an! 1 In fact, it seems odd (to the pagans) that a warner from their own people has come to them. The disbelievers have said, "It is very strange 2 What, when we are dead and turned to dust? That indeed would be an unlikely return' 3 Well do We know how the earth consumes their bodies, for with Us is a record unfailing. 4 Aye! they belie the truth when it cometh unto them; wherefore they are in an affair confused. 5 What, have they not beheld heaven above them, how We have built it, and decked it out fair, and it has no cracks? 6 And the earth - We have spread it wide, and set upon it mountains firm, and caused it to bring forth plants of all beauteous kinds, 7 To be observed and commemorated by every devotee turning (to Allah). 8 And We have sent down blessed rain from the sky and made grow thereby gardens and grain from the harvest 9 And high date-palms with lush fruit. 10 As sustenance for the bondmen; and with it We revived a dead city; this is how you will be raised. 11 The people of Noah denied before them, and the companions of the well and Thamud 12 Ad, the Pharaoh, Lot, 13 And the dwellers of the grove and the people of Tuba; all rejected the apostles, so My threat came to pass. 14 Did We fail to accomplish the first creation? Of course, We did not; We have all power over all things. Yet they are confused about a new creation. 15
