Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 for an appointed time? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
