The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
