Lo, the Tree of Ez-Zakkoum 43 Is the food of the sinful 44 like molten copper, bubbling in the belly 45 like the boiling of hot water. 46 "Seize him and drag him into the depths of Hell," (it will be said), 47 then pour boiling water over his head as chastisement. 48 (Saying): Taste! Lo! thou wast forsooth the mighty, the noble! 49 "Truly this is what ye used to doubt!" 50 Indeed the pious are in a place of peace. 51 amidst gardens and fountains, 52 Dressed in brocade and shot silk, facing one another. 53 so it will be. We shall wed them to maidens with large, dark eyes. 54 In that [paradise] they shall [rightfully] claim all the fruits [of their past deeds,] resting in security; 55 They taste not death therein, save the first death. And He hath saved them from the doom of hell, 56 a bounty from thy Lord; that is the mighty triumph. 57 (O Prophet), We have made this Book easy in your tongue so that they may take heed. 58 So be on the watch; they too are on the watch. 59
