The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the event befalleth - 1 there is no denying its coming 2 It will bring down [some] and raise up [others]. 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 And the mountains are broken down, crumbling 5 Becoming dust scattered abroad, 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 (First) those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 8 And the Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 9 As for the Foremost, they will be the foremost! 10 they who were [always] drawn close unto God! 11 in the beautiful Paradise. 12 A [large] company of the former peoples 13 and only a few of them from the later generations. 14 On thrones woven [with ornament], 15 reclining upon them, facing one another [in love]. 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 Carrying bowls and pitchers – and cups filled with wine flowing before them. 18 Whereby there shall be neither headiness nor will they be inebriated. 19 and such fruits as they shall choose, 20 Bird meats that they relish, 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 Like pearls within their shells, 23 As recompense for all they had done. 24 Therein they hear no vain or sinful discourse. 25 (Naught) but the saying: Peace, (and again) Peace. 26 And the fellows on the right hand; how be happy shall the fellows on the right hand be! 27 (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, 28 and banana trees, 29 and extended shade, 30 and outpoured waters, 31 And fruit in plenty, 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 And carpets raised. 34 Perfectly We formed them, perfect, 35 And made them virgins, 36 loving companions, matching in age, 37 For those on the right. 38
