And when your Lord called out to Musa, saying: Go to the unjust people, 10 and ask them, "Why do you not fear God?" 11 He said, “My Lord, I fear that they will deny me.” 12 "My breast will be straitened. And my speech may not go (smoothly): so send unto Aaron. 13 And they have a charge (of murder) against me. So I fear that they will kill me." 14 Allah said: "By no means! proceed then, both of you, with Our Signs; We are with you, and will listen (to your call). 15 So go you to Pharaoh, and say, "Verily, I am the Messenger of the Lord of all Being; 16 [Commanded to say], "Send with us the Children of Israel."'" 17 [But when Moses had delivered his message, Pharaoh] said: "Did we not bring thee up among us when thou wert a child? And didst thou not spend among us years of thy [later] life? 18 And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst; and thou art of the ingrates. 19 Moses said: "I did it then, when I was in error. 20 Then I ran away from you in fear, but my Lord granted me the law and has appointed me as a Messenger. 21 But the favour you oblige me with is that you have enslaved the children of Israel." 22 Said Pharaoh, "And what is the Lord of the worlds?" 23 Musa (Moses) said: "Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, if you seek to be convinced with certainty." 24 (Pharaoh) said to those around: "Did ye not listen (to what he says)?" 25 [Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers." 26 Fir'awn said: verily your apostle who hath been sent unto you is mad. 27 He said: The Lord of the east and the west and what is between them, if you understand. 28 (Pharaoh) said: If thou choosest a god other than me, I assuredly shall place thee among the prisoners. 29 (Moses) said: "Even if I showed you something clear (and) convincing?" 30 Fir'awn said: forth with it then, if thou art of the truth-tellers. 31 So [Moses] threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent manifest. 32 And he drew out his hand, and it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 33
